What is an at-home newborn photo session about?
In-home lifestyle newborn photo sessions are about capturing priceless memories at your home. It is all about the love captured by professional photographers. The love between husband and wife, parents and new baby, siblings and parents, siblings, and new baby. Lifestyle photography is action photography where the family doesn’t pose. We love the following definition: The lifestyle newborn photography is about the moments of the interaction of family members captured by professional photography at home, outdoors, or in-studio environment.
What will be captured during an in-home newborn photoshoot?
We capture special moments with each family member and the baby as well as the family all together. We love to start with family portraits and move on to the infant art of newborn photography. The sibling’s and newborn images were captured in the first part of the photo shoot. The next part of the 6-photo shoot is focusing on newborn portraits. The siblings will be involved in some photos as well.
Lifestyle newborn photography is about capturing the theme that is available at your home. The amount of scenes depends on the package you have decided to order and baby’s cooperation. Usually, it takes 15-20 minutes to create the artistic theme.
The poses depend on the baby only. The sleeping baby is the best. Please increase the temperature in the photography area. The temperature 23-24 Deg.C makes the baby more comfortable and calm. Elina will give you a call to clarify the colors that you love and she will prepare the baby outfits and some baskets and props to match the colors. Please note that we will not be able to bring a lot of props and some props are available for studio photography only. Please book the studio photo shoot if you would like to get access to all the available props, outfits, and accessories.

There is no denying the magic of newborn photography. Those first few weeks of a baby’s life are filled with so much wonder and joy, and capturing those moments is something that parents treasure for years to come. At GSR Studio Inc., we believe that at-home newborn photography is the best way to capture these precious moments. In this article, we will share our top tips and tricks for creating stunning newborn photos in the comfort of your own home.
Tip 1: Prepare Your Space
The first step to successful at-home newborn photography is preparing your space. You want to create a warm, comfortable, and safe environment for your baby. Choose a room in your home that has lots of natural light and is free from clutter. Set up a soft, clean blanket or backdrop for your baby to lie on, and have any props or accessories you want to use nearby.
Tip 2: Choose the Right Time
The timing of your newborn photoshoot is crucial. You want to schedule your session within the first two weeks of your baby’s life, ideally around 5-10 days after they are born. This is when babies are sleepiest and most cooperative. Choose a time of day when your baby is typically at their calmest and most content, such as after a feeding or nap.
Tip 3: Keep it Simple
When it comes to at-home newborn photography, less is more. Avoid using busy patterns or bright colors that will distract from your baby’s natural beauty. Instead, opt for simple, timeless props such as blankets, wraps, or headbands. Keep the focus on your baby’s sweet face and delicate features.
Tip 4: Get Creative with Angles and Poses
While simplicity is key, don’t be afraid to get creative with your angles and poses. Try different positions, such as having your baby lie on their tummy or curl up into a tiny ball. Use a variety of camera angles to capture every detail, from their tiny toes to their button nose.
Tip 5: Be Patient
Patience is essential when it comes to newborn photography. Babies are unpredictable and can be fussy or uncooperative at times. Take breaks when needed and be prepared to try again later if things aren’t going as planned. Remember, the goal is to capture beautiful memories, so don’t stress if everything doesn’t go perfectly.
