Attire Guidelines based on Canada Service Requirements
* Clothing: Wear a well-pressed shirt or blouse in neutral colours. A suit jacket or blazer helps achieve a professional look.
* Hair and Makeup: Use hair products to control fly-aways if needed and keep makeup to a minimum.
* Ears, Neck, Shoulders: Please ensure both ears, neck, and shoulders are clearly visible. It’s easier for biometric software to recognize your face automatically without any issues. The photos might be rejected if the ears, neck or shoulders are not visible.
When it comes to hairstyles, the Passport Program allows applicants to wear their hair either up or down. However, your full face and ears must be clearly visible in the photo. So, if you have long hair, be sure to tuck it behind your ears when taking the photo.
* Eyewear: Choose non-transition lenses for the photo session, as transition lenses can distort the look and create glare.
* Accessories: Generally, glasses, hats, and other accessories are not allowed unless for medical or religious reasons. Avoid bulky jewelry or accessories that could cover part of your face.
* Clothing Colours: Opt for neutral colours that do not create reflections on your face. Avoid patterned or bright-coloured clothing that could compromise photo quality.
* Shirt Style: Avoid off-the-shoulder or boat-neck tops, as passport photos are usually cropped from the shoulders up. Ensure your shirt does not make it look like you’re not wearing one.
* Overall Look: While business attire is not necessary, avoid overly casual clothing. For the photo, a simple sweater or blouse is recommended, but feel free to wear comfortable bottoms like leggings.
* Tips for Choosing an Outfit:
* Everyday Clothes: Reflect a natural, everyday look. Avoid heavy makeup and elaborate hairstyles.
* Darker Colours: Choose darker colours to stand out against the white background.
* Avoid Prints: Steer clear of loud prints or shiny materials.
* Minimal Accessories: Opt for small, non-reflective jewelry. Use simple hair accessories if needed.
* Avoid High Collars and Tank Tops: Ensure your face and neckline are clearly visible. High collars and tank tops can obscure facial features.
* Enduring Look: Choose a classic look over trendy fashion for a lasting impression.
Note: While white shirts are not ideal, we will ensure your photo is accepted if you wear one. Remove eyeglasses to avoid rejection due to glare. Hair clips, pins, and head coverings (except for religious reasons) should not obscure your face. Practice a neutral expression, as smiling is not allowed.
We look forward to seeing you at the studio and thank you for supporting a local business.
